NOSTOS

The two farm buildings designed by the late architect Sevki Pekin are iconic architectural masterpieces. "These lovers -or maybe just two friends- form the entrance gate to the vast olive plantation he owned which is situated in between Dikili and Çandarlı." His family decided to commemorate him with commissioning a different artist to design a new  olive oil bottle for each years harvest. The first year 2023, was commissioned to me and I came up with this form working in collaboration with Omer Pekin. As Santimetre Studio we produced 100 bottles, each glazed individually with a rich palette of glaze colors.

ZEYREK

Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, a hidden 500-year-old treasure in Istanbul, opened in September 2023 following an ambitious thirteen-year long restoration project. Accompanied by a museum, contemporary art space and private gardens for events, the structure will be a new destination to soak up the city’s culture. Santimetre Studio  was commissioned to design and produce all the service ware for the hamam cafe and its brasserie along side a coordinated collection of items for its gift shop.

GARDEN OF HOPE

Santimetre was commissioned a new years gift project by an institutional client. The project shaped around the idea of "hope". I decided to make 100 individually hand painted vases to create a vast garden of variety and beauty. It was a healing project for me to work on and I hoped to pass on the energy to each recipient.

PİLEVNELİ

Pilevneli Gallery commissioned me a collection for the gallery. The main theme was to create singular pieces from the standard form library of santimetre production over the years. Hence each piece was individualized.

SANTIMETRE STUDIO WEBSITE : 2014

Lets revisit the proposal draft pages of our first proper website from 2014 !

The front end was designed by dear artist and designer friend IREM CETINOR  aka IREMIX  and the back end was custom coded by my dear cousin EGE MADRA / 34bit

The site was featuring our initial collection "ANONYMOUS"

As its name suggests the focus of this collection was the re-appropriation of familiar everyday objects, whose designers had become anonymous. Although their origin obscured by layers of time these were items that survived through trends and times, reminding us of our childhood homes, of our grandparents' houses, of elusive memories and dreamy movie scenes.

By producing these items in porcelain, Santimetre aimed at giving them a new lease of life, a chance of re-entry into our contemporary homes with joyful colors and a healing touch.
